From a young age, I’ve always been a curious soul—constantly asking unconventional questions, taking apart electronics to fix or upgrade them, and even designing wooden cars with gears. The list of my childhood experiments is endless. While I’ve dabbled in many things over the years, design has always been second nature to me. From excelling in art and craft classes during primary school to creating commercial design decks in my university days, it’s been a consistent thread in my journey.

I began my career as a web administrator (product admin) at Kalahari, where I wore multiple hats—graphic designer, product designer, and administrator. This role allowed me to engage directly with consumers, businesses, and colleagues, gaining valuable insights to perform efficiently. Over the years, I’ve worked and consulted across various industries, including fintech, ecommerce, agrotech, edtech, healthtech, and most recently, martech powered by AI. As the Head of Design at Jumia, I led a team of 52 designers, driving efforts to achieve company-wide goals such as user acquisition across 14 countries and strengthening brand equity across diverse markets and demographics.

I currently lead design at Nomba, where I spearheaded the creation of the company’s first-ever design system, Nomba One. Since joining, I’ve designed and launched three POS hardware and software solutions—Max, Mini, and Pro—led the design of our consumer banking app, and revamped our business web app, among other impactful initiatives. Outside of Nomba, I founded Bonbonpay, a utility payment platform, and Kiru Farms, a personal project I nurture in my spare time.

I hold a B.Sc. in Mathematics, which I consider the logical foundation for how I approach solving real-world problems—whether through design or other means. I have a passion for traveling, both locally and internationally, a love for good music, and a knack for making great friends while sharing conversations over a refreshing glass of ice-cold mint tea.
